WD Security is a tool from Western Digital which allows you to add password protection to your hard drives or solid state drives.
With a simple installation of WD Security, these devices can be secured easily. Simply attach your Western Digital drive to a system. The main application will recognize the drives that it supports and display some details about it including the name, storage capacity and an icon.
Setting up a password for your drive is a simple task. The program will ask you to enter the same password twice to lock it. Lost and forgotten passwords cannot be retrieved, so make sure you keep it in a safe place. You can have WD Security provide you with a hint.
The level of security provided with WD Security is 256-bit AES encryption so you'll have some protection against anybody attempting to access important files on your storage media.
